Every school year begins with hands. Hands that paint, clean, and repair. At Balangkayan Senior High School – Stand Alone, Brigada Eskwela 2026 proved one thing clearly. When a community works together, great things happen.

What Is Brigada Eskwela?
Brigada Eskwela is a yearly program of the Department of Education (DepEd). It brings communities together to prepare public schools before classes begin. In short, it is a celebration of bayanihan — the Filipino tradition of helping one another to reach a shared goal. This year, Balangkayan SHS proudly joined schools all over the country in living out that tradition.

A Community That Shows Up
What made Brigada Eskwela 2026 special was the people who chose to be part of it. Furthermore, each group brought something unique and valuable to the activity.
The Local Government
First and foremost, Balangkayan SHS thanks Municipal Mayor Hon. Allan C. Contado for his strong support. His leadership has always placed education at the center of community development. As a result, his involvement gave the entire activity a strong sense of direction. You can learn more about Balangkayan’s local government at the official LGU Balangkayan page.

PNP, BFP, and the Philippine Coast Guard
Additionally, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard worked hard to prepare the school grounds. Their effort went beyond their usual duties. In fact, their dedication and public service made a visible and lasting difference before the opening of classes.
Barangay Officials
Moreover, the Barangay Officials of Balangkayan played an active and important role. Their cooperation and encouragement helped build a stronger bond between the school and the community. Because of their participation, the event felt truly united and well-supported.

Parents and Guardians
Of course, no school event is complete without parents. The parents and guardians who gave their time showed just how much they believe in their children’s education. Indeed, the partnership between home and school is what makes learning truly possible. Read more about how we involve parents on our Programs page.
Our Learners
Perhaps the most inspiring group of all was the learners themselves. They came with energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to help. Simply put, our students are the heart and reason behind everything we do.
Community Volunteers
In addition, community volunteers gave their time, skills, and resources without hesitation. Their selfless service showed the true meaning of bayanihan. Because of them, the school received support that went far beyond what was expected.
Faculty and Staff

Finally, the faculty and staff of Balangkayan SHS deserve full recognition. They planned, led, and worked tirelessly from start to finish. Therefore, they deserve every bit of praise and appreciation from the entire school community.
