Leadership is more than a position. It is a person — their experience, their values, their vision, and the way they show up for the people they serve. As the BSHS community welcomes Ma’am Rosalia C. Canario, it welcomes a leader whose commitment to quality education and genuine service defines who she is.
Ma’am Canario brings with her a background shaped by years of dedication to the Department of Education and to the learners it serves. A Double Celebration: Congratulations, Ma’am Emma M. Abot
July 8, 2026 carried an additional layer of joy for the BSHS community. While the school welcomed its new School Head, it also took the opportunity to celebrate an important personal and professional milestone — OIC Principal Ma’am Emma M. Abot’s success in the 2025 National Assessment for School Heads.
Ma’am Abot served as the OIC and School Principal II of Balangkayan Senior High School with quiet strength and consistent dedication. Under her watch, BSHS launched new safety programs, held its earthquake drill, celebrated Mark Paul Borja’s historic TESDA WorldSkills Bronze Medal, and continued to grow as a school community. Therefore, the recognition of her passing the National Assessment felt deeply right — a public acknowledgment of the leadership she had already been quietly living every day.
The congratulations tarpaulin proudly displayed on the wall of the Cookery Section said it best: “Well done, Ma’am. The whole Balangkayan Senior High School is proud.” And indeed, BSHS is proud — proud of the leader she was, and excited for the next chapter she moves into as a fully nationally assessed school head.
Congratulations, Ma’am Emma M. Abot! Your hard work and dedication truly inspire every member of the BSHS family. Balangkayan Senior High School is in full support of all your future endeavours — wherever your journey leads next. Thank you for everything you gave to this school and to every learner who walks through its doors.
The Welcome Party: Food, Fellowship, and the BSHS Spirit
A celebration at BSHS is never just a program — it is a community gathering. The welcome party held at the school’s Cookery Section on July 8, 2026 was exactly that. Teachers, staff, and students filled the room with laughter, conversation, and the kind of easy camaraderie that only a close-knit school family can produce.
The celebration table featured an abundant spread — pancit, lumpiang shanghai, pizza, cake, and refreshments that the community shared together. Furthermore, the atmosphere was warm and genuinely festive. There was no formality for formality’s sake — just real people, genuinely happy to be together for two very real reasons.
The welcome cake, beautifully decorated and inscribed with both “Welcome Ma’am Canario” and “Congratulations Ma’am Emma,” became the centerpiece of the day. It captured the spirit of the celebration perfectly — two milestones, one community, one shared moment of joy.
“May your journey with BSHS be filled with meaningful experiences, successful endeavors, and lasting partnerships. Welcome aboard, Ma’am Canario — and may your leadership bring continued success to our school.“
— The BSHS Community, July 8, 2026

What Lies Ahead: A Vision for BSHS Under Ma’am Canario’s Leadership
New leadership brings new energy. However, the best new leaders do not start by dismantling what is already good — they build on it.
